Phoenix CC is seeking qualified students entering their sophomore to senior years.

What to Expect:
PhoenixCC promises to provide an atmosphere that encourages interns to grow in responsibilities, education and network. Interns will be working on the “floor”, experience management responsibilities, and shadow professionals in the Club. Phoenix CC’s program also exposes students to other departments of the Club including golf, tennis, pool operations, financial and member services. We have scheduled bonding/social trips, professional networking opportunities through CMAA and on-site education sessions for interns to engage in

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Learning members’ names to greet them upon arrival to their “home away from home“
  • Walk our property and get to know our membership and refine your anticipatory service skills by learning about our members' specific needs and wants
  • Oversee the management of an outlet, project, camp, clinic or marketing and communications assignment with the management team
  • Complete an internship project during your time with us, leaving your legacy with Phoenix CC.  The Management Team will guide you and assure you the opportunity to shine in your own unique way
  • Rotational Exposure through all departments at the Club

Compensation:

  • A competitive hourly wage based on experience.

Current Internship Categories:
We offer four different internships:

  • Hospitality: Food/Beverage
  • Membership/Marketing/Communications
  • Fitness/Wellness/Aquatics
  • Culinary

Each intern assumes varying roles based on their own unique education, experience and interests. Our interns have an opportunity to see all aspects of the Club including grounds, golf shop, accounting, agronomy, and human resources.

Hospitality: Food/Beverage:
This internship focuses on the overall Clubhouse operations at the Club. The various aspects of hospitality: Food / Beverage include: casual a la carte dining, poolside dining, banquets and Club events. Interns work alongside the Phoenix CC Food and Beverage and Catering Management Team which focus primarily on supervising a dining outlet or banquet operations. This is open to students who are looking to learn the execution of service and how to lead a team. Each student has the opportunity to customize their experience at Phoenix CC to meet their individual needs and goals. All students have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with the Executive Management Team and attend local CMAA chapter meetings.

Membership/Marketing/Communications:
This internship focuses primarily on Club membership and internal marketing. Interns work one-on-one with the Membership Director and Communications Coordinator. You take a leadership role with our Social Media campaign and other communication conduits as well as assist our membership team with Club social events. This is open to students who are looking to learn the execution of service, marketing and communications in a large, private, Platinum Club and how to implement and lead a team. Each student has the opportunity to customize their experience at Phoenix CC to meet individual needs and goals. All students have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with the Executive Management Team and attend local CMAA chapter meetings.

Fitness/Wellness/Aquatics:
This internship focuses primarily on member fitness, wellness, and aquatics. Interns work one-on-one with the Fitness Director and Aquatics Director. You take a leadership role with our children’s camps and clinics as well as lead classes, seminars, and social events. This is open to students who are looking to learn the structure of a fitness and aquatics facility in a large, private, Platinum, Club and how to lead a team. Each student has the opportunity to customize their experience at Phoenix CC to meet individual needs and goals. All students have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with the Executive Management Team and attend local CMAA chapter meetings.

Culinary:
This internship focuses primarily on culinary arts and management. Interns work one-on-one with the Executive Chef and hi professional culinary team. Interns can rotate through our a la carte dining, banquets, pool café, and bakery. This is open to students who are looking to learn the structure of a multi-operational kitchen in a large, private, Platinum, Club and how to lead a team. Each student has the opportunity to customize their experience at Phoenix CC to meet individual needs and goals. All students have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with the Executive Management Team and attend local CMAA chapter meetings.
